My name is Nadège and I’m a French expat currently living in Western NY. I work as a teacher and a mentor. My life is centered around my family of four, my local community, and my teaching and reading practices. I have been engaged in the world of education for over 12 years, both in France and in the United States. I have taught and mentored over 800 learners throughout that time.

I am also a dedicated writer, researcher, and translator with a strong interest in the aesthetics and politics of language. I’ve worked on a variety of research projects ranging from a Master's thesis in English for Specific Purposes at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Cachan, France, to my doctoral research in Comparative Literature at the University of Oregon, where I earned my PhD.

My teaching experience spans French classes at all levels, Writing and Composition classes, and Comparative Literature classes. My teaching practices are geared towards fostering inclusion and learner motivation; this translates into alternative grading systems, collaborative work with and between learners, encouraging learner self-assessment, and individualized goal-setting. 

I have contributed to the collaborative translation of Isidore Isou’s script Traité de bave et d’éternité, published by Annex Press in 2019. I have also had multiple experiences of editing and reviewing translated academic papers.

My intellectual projects are all driven by my fascination for transcultural and translinguistic interactions. My passion for languages is driven by my own linguistic experience of being raised bilingually and being exposed to the interactions between the French and English languages; this background has fostered an interest in multilingual and translingual practices in the various contexts I today engage with: literature, research, teaching, and translation.
